Transparent Labs provides a range of sports supplements. Read our in-depth review of the product selection, testing practices, and quality.

We sampled some of the top products from Transparent Labs to help you decide whether or not the brand is worth a try. Its products are made with clinically studied ingredients, and are also third-party tested and free of artificial ingredients.

In this article, we also take a closer look at its other products, along with the company’s testing practices, reputation, and how it stacks up against competitors.

Transparent Labs offers a wide assortment of supplements, including:

  • pre-workout supplements
  • creatine
  • protein powders and bars
  • greens powders
  • electrolyte blends
  • vitamins, minerals, and herbal supplements

According to its website, all products are free of artificial colors and sweeteners and formulated using natural and grass-fed ingredients.

Supplements also undergo testing through an independent lab, such as Analytical Resource Laboratories. Others are certified by third-party organizations like Informed Choice, which evaluates products for safety and quality.

The company provides a certificate of analysis (COA) for each product, which is a document with detailed information on testing results and levels of contaminants, such as heavy metals and bacteria.

Because the brand specializes in providing natural sports supplements, it’s especially popular among athletes and gym goers looking to reach their fitness goals.

However, many products are formulated with a blend of ingredients, some of which may interact with other medications and might not be recommended for those with certain health conditions.

Other supplements — including many of the pre-workout supplements — also contain high amounts of caffeine and other stimulants, which some people might need to limit or avoid.

Therefore, it’s best to check the ingredients label carefully and consult with a doctor before using supplements.

Our tester tried the peanut butter flavor for several months and found it added good flavor to shakes and acai bowls. It passed in the consistency and scent departments as well. Because it packs 28 grams of protein, it’s a great choice for anyone who needs to boost protein intake or jumpstart post-workout recovery.

Each variety is also free of added sugar and naturally sweetened with stevia. Some flavors also contain other ingredients to enhance the taste, such as cocoa powder, peanut flour, or cinnamon.

In addition to the company’s whey protein supplement, it also offers several other protein-based products, including whey protein bars, casein protein, collagen powder, a high calorie mass gainer to promote weight gain, and a vegan protein powder derived from rice and pea protein.

Bulk Pre-Workout

The company also offers Bulk Black, a similar pre-workout product that contains a higher amount of caffeine. It has additional ingredients like Infinergy, a compound that can extend the effects of caffeine, and AstraGin, a blend of Chinese ginseng and astragalus.

Our tester, who has been hesitant to use pre-workout supplements in the past, tried Bulk Black in blue raspberry and said it’s easy to mix, starts with strong blue raspberry taste, and finishes with a bit of a stevia aftertaste. He found it to be more enjoyable than other pre-workout supplements he’s tried. In his words, “It reminds me of Kool-Aid on a summer day (very tasty!).”

LEAN Pre-Workout

  • Price: $49.99 ($1.66 per serving)
  • Serving size: 1 scoop (14 g)
  • Dosage:.5–2 scoops per day
  • Certifications: Informed Choice certified
  • Available flavors: Strawberry Lemonade, Sour Grape, Fruit Punch, Sour Peach, Blue Raspberry, Green Apple, Orange, Tropical Punch
  • Nutrition stats per serving: (all flavors) 5 calories, 1 g carbs

This pre-workout product was developed to boost fat burning and increase your metabolism.

It contains a blend of 21 unique ingredients, including acetyl-L-carnitine, zinc, and chromium picolinate.

It also features L-carnitine, a compound that plays a key role in energy production and helps convert fat into fuel to be used by the body.

Our tester found it was a solid option overall and the sour grape was flavorful and intense. He did notice the lower dosages of key ingredients such as citrulline malate and beta aline – which typically enhance pump intensity and strength endurance – left some of his workouts feeling flat and unfulfilled. “It’s a difference that experienced supplement takers will notice,” he says.

If that’s you, we recommend sticking with the Bulk or Black options from Transparent Labs.

However, if you prefer a pre-workout supplement that’s lighter in the stimulant category, this is a good option. “I felt fully focused during my workout even although this pre-workout had lower dosages of stimulants compared to other competitors.”

This supplement is third-party tested and certified and also free of gluten, GMOs, and artificial flavors, sweeteners, and preservatives.

In addition to the company’s Lean and Bulk products, it also offer several other pre-workout supplements, including Stim Booster to enhance energy and two caffeine-free options: Pump and Stim-Free.

Transparent Labs offers a large selection of products, which are grouped into different categories:

  • Pre-Workout
  • Build Muscle & Recover
  • Protein
  • Health & Wellness

Supplements are formulated to support various health- and fitness-related goals using clinically studied ingredients.

For example, the Post-Workout Recovery Supplement includes betaine anhydrous, which may enhance endurance, and tart cherry powder, a supplement that can aid recovery after exercise.

Meanwhile, the Prebiotic Greens supplement is made with spirulina, a type of algae that’s been shown to improve antioxidant status, protect against muscle damage, and prevent inflammation.

Though most products are geared specifically toward athletes, others are designed to support weight management or increase energy and focus. Transparent Labs offers many other supplements, such as multivitamins, krill oil, joint support supplements, sleep aids, and more.

Each item on its website includes a comprehensive list of ingredients. Certain products also provide a detailed breakdown of available research on the purported benefits for each ingredient.

Still, if you’re taking other medications or have any underlying health conditions, it’s best to check in with a doctor before adding any new supplements to your routine.

As of the time of publication, Transparent Lab is not currently accredited by the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and currently has a D- rating, which is based on factors such as the company’s business practices and complaint history.

On Trustpilot, the brand holds an average rating of 3.3 out of 5 stars, with 7 total reviews from customers, at time of publish.

Positive reviews report satisfaction with the quality of products, noting that any issues have been quickly resolved by customer service.

Meanwhile, less favorable reviews mention issues with shipping delays or the responsiveness of support staff.

The company was also involved in one lawsuit in 2020, which alleged that the brand’s website was not adequately accessible for individuals with disabilities.
