Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers among men worldwide. The disease is caused by a number of risk factors, from your age to your genes. Although incidence of prostate cancer is lower in Central and South America than in other areas, mortality rates are higher in those parts of the world than in other low-incidence countries.
Though most men who have prostate cancer do not have a family history of the disease, there may be an inherited or genetic factor for why prostate cancer runs in some families.
