Postnasal drip is a common occurrence, affecting almost everyone at some point in their lives. The glands in your nose and throat continually produce mucus to:

In the cases of a deviated septum, corrective surgery may be the only way to permanently treat postnasal drip. During this surgery, called a septoplasty, the nasal septum is straightened and centered. Some parts of the nasal septum may need to be removed to do this.
