  • Evaluate ingredients and composition: Do they have the potential to cause harm?
  • Fact-check all health claims: Do they align with the current body of scientific evidence?
  • Assess the brand: Does it operate with integrity and adhere to industry best practices?
We do the research so you can find trusted products for your health and wellness.

Our testers rank Green Chef the best overall for gluten-free meal delivery, and weigh in on Epicured, Trifecta, and more.

For people with celiac disease or nonceliac gluten sensitivity, following a gluten-free diet is key to preventing side effects. Other people say they just feel better when they avoid eating gluten.

Whichever category you’re in, finding a gluten-free meal delivery service can be challenging. While a number of companies offer gluten-free options, most produce meals in facilities that also process gluten-containing foods, which increases the risk of cross-contamination.

We’ve tried nearly 30 meal delivery services. Our testers have chosen the six on this list for having the greatest variety of delicious, gluten-free prepared meals and meal kits, and for their efforts to reduce gluten exposure in their processes.

Read on to learn which gluten-free meal delivery is right for you.

At Healthline, we know that meal delivery services aren’t a small investment, which is why we’ve taken the time to test nearly 30 of the most popular meal delivery services on the market.

Testers select a week’s worth of meals from multiple menus to get a well-rounded view of the types of flavors and ingredients offered.

During testing, we consider several factors, including the ease of the signup and meal selection process, the variety and nutritional composition of the meals offered, ingredient quality and freshness, how easy the meals are to cook, and, of course, the taste.

There are many factors to keep in mind when selecting a meal delivery service, especially if you follow a gluten-free diet:

  • Certification: In particular, if you have celiac disease or another gluten-related condition, you can choose a service that is certified gluten-free or produces meals in a gluten-free facility to reduce the risk of cross-contamination.
  • Variety: You may want to check the menu for meal variety, including options that fit your tastes. Some services also offer options for other dietary needs, such as vegetarian and keto. This may be especially important if you have other dietary restrictions.
  • Ingredients: If you prefer organic food or meals free of artificial ingredients and preservatives, you’ll want to browse company websites for more information about the quality of ingredients used.
  • Prep time: Keep in mind that the amount of preparation required may vary. While some services deliver dishes that are ready to eat, others provide meal kits that often require 20–40 minutes to cook.
  • Cost: Along with the price of every meal, you’ll want to consider the total cost. That means accounting for factors such as shipping and other add-ons.

Sunbasket wins our vote for best gluten-free meal kits, offering a broad selection of gluten-free, organic meals. It also has a selection of prepared meals available.

In fact, our tester said that of all the meal kits she’s tried,  Sunbasket has “the most consistently delicious flavors and exciting ingredient combinations.”

It’s important to note, however, that Sunbasket’s gluten-free menu items are packaged in a facility that processes food allergens, including gluten, so are unsuitable for those with severe gluten-related disorders, such as celiac disease.

Green Chef is another great choice for gluten-free meal kits, and is our top pick overall for best gluten-free meal delivery. It is also certified a Gluten-Free Safe Spot business by the Gluten Intolerance Group.

Like Sunbasket, Green Chef meal kits are organic, and it also offers a selection of prepared meals.

Yes, multiple meal plans offer gluten-free menus! The six on our “best of” list were selected for the number of gluten-free options they provide; the quality, variety, and flavor of the meals; and how easy the service is to use; among other criteria. You can’t go wrong with any of them if you’re looking for gluten-free meal delivery.

Though HelloFresh doesn’t have any specific gluten-free menus or meal plans, they do offer some recipes that can fit into a gluten-free diet.

However, keep in mind that meal kits are not prepared in a gluten-free facility, meaning that cross contamination is possible.

Some of it is. You need to choose Green Chef’s Gluten-Free meal plan in order to filter to the gluten-free options for entrees, soups, salads, and breakfast items.

The preparation of these meals also meet criteria marking Green Chef as a Gluten-Free Safe Spot business by the Gluten Intolerance Group.

If you have a gluten-related disorder, or simply prefer to avoid gluten, gluten-free meal kit delivery services make it easy to enjoy healthy meals delivered straight to your door.

When selecting a service, you may want to consider factors such as whether meals are certified gluten-free or produced in a gluten-free facility, as well as:

  • cost
  • ingredient quality
  • menu variety
  • required preparation time
