The angular artery is an end part of the facial artery in the face. It is located alongside the nose and goes up to the inner point of the eye cavity or orbit. This artery supplies blood to the nose area, as well as the upper and lower eyelids. It also supplies blood to the cheeks and is the source of the pulse in the facial area.
The angular artery may be damaged during surgical procedures on the sinuses. Cauterization (medical burning) may be needed to stop the bleeding if it doesn’t stop on its own within a few minutes.
