Summer is such a fun season! And as someone living with psoriasis, I also love some of the benefits that safe sun exposure can bestow.

But as casual and carefree as the season is, it requires special attention to your skin — especially in the wake of too much greasy sunscreen, sweat, chlorine, humidity, and margaritas.

The last few sun-soaked weeks of the summer are the perfect time to change up your beauty routine with a few products designed to revive, rehydrate, and extend your summer glow.

Here are my favorite, tried-and-true products — from my go-to sunscreen (so important!) to the mask that will help you radiate like the ray of sunshine you are.

OY-L Manuka Honey Face Wash

I’m constantly searching for the perfect cleanser that can remove my makeup, not strip my face of its natural oils, and doesn’t leave a weird residue. After discovering OY-L’s Manuka Honey face wash, I knew I had finally found The One.

Manuka honey has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial healing properties, and as a key ingredient in this wash, it soothes and restores to give your late-summer look a noticeable boost. I tried it once and was devoted for a lifetime. Get it here.

Fresh’s Rose Deep Hydration Toner

I hate to admit it, but I used to be one of those people who really didn’t understand why you needed to use a toner! It wasn’t until I started to simplify my routine and use the absolute basics to keep my skin healthy, that I discovered how essential a good toner is for creating balance.

Alcohol-based toners are too harsh, but this hydrating version packed with soothing rosewater, nourishing rose flower oil, and real rose petals feels like moisture in a bottle. I use it on my skin every morning and night as a gentle way to wipe away dirt, oil, and that layer of sweat/sand/sunscreen that coats your face at the end of a lovely summer day. Get it here.

Naturopathica’s Lavender Protective Moisturizer

I’ve been a fan of Naturopathica for years and this product is a regular part of my summer skin routine. After finding that most sunscreens were thick, ultra-greasy, and contained ingredients I would never want near my face, this moisturizer with SPF 17 was a clear favorite from the start.

Not only does it protect my skin from UVA/UVB damage, but the lavender is such a beautiful and calming scent. Get it here.

Drunk Elephant’s T.L.C. Sukari BabyFacial Mask

I discovered this mask earlier this year and now swear by it. I’ve even gotten my friends hooked on its ability to revive dull skin. It’s the perfect thing for a Sunday night after you’ve spent the weekend at the beach and aren’t planning on being in the sun for an excessive amount of time immediately after you apply it.

The mask exfoliates dead cells and packs moisture back into your skin in one fell swoop. Its formula includes AHA and BHA acids to revive, chickpea flour to brighten, and antioxidants like matcha tea and milk thistle to hydrate and reduce redness. Get it here.

Uma’s Absolute Anti-Aging Lip Oil

If the eyes are the window to your soul, the lips are often the window to how well your skin is doing. You can tell how dehydrated someone is, how much collagen their skin has been losing, and overall wear and tear just by looking at someone’s lips.

That’s why I was so excited when Uma Oils created an anti-aging lip product that not only works, but has good-for-you ingredients like avocado oil, peppermint, and geranium oil. I apply this throughout the day — especially during summer — and as a treatment at night before bed. When it comes time to kiss summer goodbye, your lips will thank you for using this! Get it here.

Of course, much of our beauty starts from within, so tons of water and healthy foods are also essential to feed summer-drenched skin… but these products are an easy way to make sure you’re feeling glowy and gorgeous during the season of sun and fun, and beyond!
