Brentwood Home Oceano Luxury Hybrid Mattress

  • Price: $$
  • Type: Hybrid
  • Height: 14 inches

According to My Slumber Yard (which is owned and operated by Red Ventures, Healthline’s parent company), the Oceano mattress is a solid pick for side sleepers and people who toss and turn. My Slumber Yard also features the mattress in its list of best natural and organic mattresses. My Slumber Yard tests mattresses themselves and independently reviews them.

This thick mattress is suitable for people with higher body weight. It’s made with Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS)-certified organic cotton and wool, and incorporates CertiPUR-US certified, plant-based foam.

Reviewers like the medium-firm feel. While it’s not our top choice for back and stomach sleepers, both types of customers were happy with the Oceano’s supportiveness. Some reviewers do say they find the mattress a bit too firm.

Brentwood Home Hybrid Latex Mattress

  • Price: $$
  • Type: Hybrid
  • Height: 12 inches

The Hybrid Latex model is made from recycled materials, including plastic bottles, and has a medium feel. Instead of polyurethane foams, the mattress contains natural latex.

Edge coils help reinforce the sides for better edge support, though some reviewers say the mattress lacks side support.

The mattress’s cotton and wool components are GOTS and OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified. It’s also Greenguard Gold certified.

Reviewers say this mattress is easy to rotate and move with its multiple stitched handles.

This mattress has a firmness level right in the middle of the firmness scale, so it may be too soft for some. That said, both stomach and side sleepers say it’s comfortable and supportive.

Compared to other natural and organic mattresses, this Brentwood Home model’s price point is more affordable.

Brentwood Home Cedar Natural Luxe Mattress

  • Price: $$
  • Type: Hybrid
  • Height: 11 inches

Here’s another eco-friendly option from Brentwood Home. The Cedar Natural Luxe mattress is GOTS certified and features plenty of premium details, like coconut husk buttons and handcrafted button tufts.

The Greenguard Gold certified mattress also contains organic latex and wool.

It’s slightly firmer than the other options above, making it an excellent choice for back sleepers. Side sleepers also rated this mattress highly, but some people found it too firm for their liking. We don’t recommend this model for stomach sleepers because it’s higher on the firmness scale.

Reviewers also mention that the mattress does a good job of regulating body temperature.

Brentwood Home Cypress Affordable Memory Foam Mattress

  • Price: $
  • Type: Memory foam
  • Height: 11 or 13 inches

You can choose between two thicknesses for this CertiPUR-US and Greenguard Gold certified mattress.

It’s a budget-friendly memory foam option that features an infusion of charcoal designed for improved temperature and moisture control. However, customers can’t seem to agree on whether the mattress misses the mark on temperature control.

The Cypress mattress also contains a plant-based memory foam, which the brand says is more eco-friendly than standard mattress foams. However, a handful of reviewers complain about a strong off-gassing smell.

Side, back, and stomach sleepers all have different experiences with this mattress. Still, many say the medium-firm surface is supportive and comfortable for multiple sleeping positions.

Struggling to decide between Brentwood Home’s different mattress offerings? Here’s a handy breakdown of things to consider.

Mattress type

Mattress type depends on your preference. You might prefer a softer sleep surface, for instance. If that’s the case, memory foam may be a good option for you. It’s also a solid pick if you’re on a budget.

Brentwood Home offers many hybrid options, which give the combined benefits of foam and innerspring technology. They can be a good choice if you want a little more support than memory foam offers.

Organic materials

Is having an organic mattress important to you? Brentwood Home offers several models with eco-friendly, organic materials. These features are great if you’re concerned about off-gassing and chemical exposure.

Flippable design

Many mattresses are one-sided and not made for flipping. A flippable model, though, can increase the longevity of your mattress. Another benefit of Brentwood Home’s flippable model is that each side has a different firmness level to accommodate different sleepers.

Most of Brentwood Home’s mattresses fall somewhere in the middle in terms of firmness. Note that firmness doesn’t necessarily equal support, though.

If you’re not sure what you prefer, many people find that a medium-firm mattress provides comfortable, pressure-relieving support.

Research from 2010 and 2015 suggests that medium-firm mattresses may be particularly comfortable for people with back pain.

Mattress height

Typically, the thicker the mattress, the higher the price tag. But depending on your needs, it might be worth it. A thicker mattress contains more materials and is usually a lot more durable than a thinner one.

If you have a higher body weight, sleep with a partner, or want better motion isolation, a thicker mattress is a good investment.

Cooling features

Are you a hot sleeper? Opt for a mattress with cooling materials, like cooling gel memory foam, that’s designed to help regulate your body temperature overnight.

Vegan design

Very few mattress companies sell vegan mattresses, but Brentwood Home has a wool-free model that will appeal to those living a vegan lifestyle.

Brentwood Home has a Better Business Bureau (BBB) rating of B+. The company isn’t BBB accredited.

The BBB website shows a record of three customer complaints filed and closed within the last 3 years. You can see Brentwood Home’s response to each of the complaints on the BBB website.

There appear to be no recent or pending lawsuits involving the safety of Brentwood Home mattresses.

Reviews of Brentwood Home mattresses are generally positive. Many positive reviews are from new buyers who are still testing out their new mattress.

There are also some poor reviews on sites like Consumer Affairs and Amazon.

People leaving negative reviews tend to comment that the mattresses didn’t last past 2 or 3 years. Many negative reviews report that sagging was a primary concern.

Some people experienced sagging within the first year, while others noticed it after a year or two of use.

Brentwood Home offers free delivery via FedEx or AGS (for larger mattresses). Customers will receive an appointment time for AGS deliveries. Delivery can take several weeks.

Delivery doesn’t include removing your existing mattress and bedroom accessories unless you select white-glove delivery.

White-glove delivery includes in-home setup of your new mattress and removal of your old one. This service costs an extra $275. If you don’t have an old mattress, white-glove delivery costs $249.

Your mattress will arrive compressed in a box. Quite a few reviewers comment on the strong off-gassing smell after unpacking the mattress. Off-gassing is pretty common for boxed mattresses, especially if they contain memory foam.

The smell should dissipate after a while, but it’s unclear how long this may take. One reviewer complained that the smell lingered for more than a month.

If you buy a mattress from Brentwood Home, you have 1 year to try it out. However, you have to try it for at least 30 days for the return policy to kick in.

If you’re not happy with your mattress after 30 days, you can contact Brentwood Home to initiate the returns process.

Brentwood Home will take back mattresses via its partner service, but the company prioritizes donating or recycling mattresses.

Important note: Brentwood Home only accepts returns for mattresses purchased directly from the company. Any delivery fees are nonrefundable.

Brentwood Home’s mid-priced mattresses will appeal to a variety of sleepers.

We recommend buying directly from the Brentwood Home website for the best customer service experience. The lengthy test period is great, but many customers only experienced trouble after the first year or two.

When buying any mattress, pay close attention to any quality issues that crop up, even if they seem minor. A good mattress should last you at least 10 years, so premature sagging is a red flag.

That said, a few negative reviews don’t necessarily mean that you’ll have the same experience.

A mattress purchase is highly personal. Brentwood Home’s product lineup has something to offer for almost every type of sleeper out there.
