With Pokémon Go, you aren’t a captive audience to a game — you’re part of it. You’re out in the world making the game happen and getting exercise while you’re at it.

But what if you've already caught 'em all, or are simply Pikachu'd out? Pokémon Go isn’t the only gaming option that can help get you and your kids off the couch!

Zombies, Run!

iPhone rating: ★★★★★

Android rating: ★★★★★

Price: Free

Zombies Run! is perhaps the most popular active player game next to Pokémon Go. This one is perfect for runners, but also works for walkers. You’ll get a mission while you’re moving, and if the game alerts you to zombies, you’ll have to speed up to beat them. You’ll collect supplies to fortify your town, and you’ll never run out of missions. This is a great game for folks who want a little motivation for their exercise and weight loss efforts.

SpecTrek

Android rating: ★★★★★

Price: $2.49

Who you gonna call? No need for Ghostbusters when you can hunt down the ghosts yourself. Work in 15, 30, or 60 minute blocks to find ghosts in your neighborhood using Google Maps. You can tell the game just how far from home you want to travel or let it pick a search radius for you to work within. Walk for a leisurely adventure, or run if you want to use the game as a workout.

7 Minute Superhero Workout

iPhone rating: ★★★★★

Android rating: ★★★★✩

Price: $2.99

Made by the same folks who brought you Zombies Run!, the 7 Minute Superhero Workout has a similar premise: to make exercise fun. Protect planet Earth from alien invaders by getting your home workout on. Unlike others, this one doesn’t require you to leave the house, so it also makes for a great rainy day game. Using bodyweight exercises, you’ll earn medals and keep the planet safe.

GooseChase

iPhone rating: ★★★★✩

Android rating: ★★★★✩

Price: Free

If you like group adventures and have a bit of a competitive streak, you’ll most likely be a fan of GooseChase. Download the app and find a game in your area. Missions might include solving a riddle or getting to a specific location. You’ll earn points for achieving your missions as you work against others in the game. It’s great for team building and ice-breaking events, and allows you to create your own games, too!

Tourality

Android rating: ★★★★✩

Price: $1.49

If you fancy yourself a treasure hunter, Tourality might be the perfect game for you. Using GPS, your mobile device essentially becomes a treasure map, and you the pursuer of destinations, goodies, and gold. Use the gold you collect to increase your speed or for finding goodie spots to purchase gadgets, which are tools that make you faster, block opponents, or give you tips for the next location. We like Tourality because you can play alone or on teams, and because you’re competing with other players around your city.
