New Product Alert! – KIND Healthy Grains

KIND granola clustersYou have undoubtedly noticed the recent increase in the number of gluten free products available in super markets nowadays. According to the Celiac Disease Foundation, one in 133 people in the United States has Celiac Disease for which the treatment is complete elimination of gluten from the diet. That is a ton of people and this growing demand has led to an increase in gluten free foods and beverages.

Gluten is a protein found in wheat, barley, and rye which are found in a lot of commonly eaten foods. It’s often difficult to find foods that are healthy, nutritious, and do not contain gluten. One that is often particularly challenging to find is a good-tasting, healthy cereal. Well thanks to KIND Healthy Grain Clusters, this is no longer a challenge.

The creators of the very popular and one of my favorite snacks KIND bars recently released a new cereal line that is gluten free, high fiber, and made from whole grains. All of the cereals are a 100% whole grain blend of gluten free oats, brown rice, buckwheat, amaranth, millet, quinoa along with blueberries, walnuts, flax seeds, and chia in various blends.

With six different flavors to choose from, each bag is filled with around 16 grams of whole grains, omega-3 fatty acids, and 5 grams of fiber. This cereal is often compared to a regular granola because of the way it looks, but it is actually lower in fat, calories, and sugar and has more fiber and whole grains than other granolas and cereals.

This is one of the best cereals I have tried in terms of taste and it also has a great deal of crunch. You don’t have to eat it as a cereal to enjoy it either. Here are some other quick and easy ways you can enjoy KIND’s Healthy Grains cereal:

  • Add it to Greek Yogurt
  • Make your own trail mix with it by adding some nuts and dried fruit
  • Make your own granola bars
  • Eat it right out of the bag – I do!
  • Create your own parfaits with yogurt and fruit
  • Add it to toppings of dessert as “crumble” instead of flour, sugar, and butter
