Even as "innovation" is becoming a familiar buzzword, our pioneering DiabetesMine Innovation Project charges ahead -- seeking ever-fresh ways to highlight patient needs and stimulate technological advancements.
Our Fall program this year will be something new! "DiabetesMine University," in which informed patient advocates and various experts will teach "classes" on different aspects of diabetes care: exciting new tools and how they are used IRL, what impacts patient adoption and adherence, and more.
This "University" will consist of our annual DiabetesMine Innovation Summit and the more deep-tech focused D-Data ExChange event that traditionally run back-to-back each Fall in the San Francisco Bay Area. Class will be in session this year on Nov. 1-2 at the UCSF Mission Bay biotech conference center.
Diabetes Innovation in 2018
The overarching theme this year is that A New Era of Consumer Focus and Patient-Led Diabetes Innovation Has Arrived -- what does it mean for the various stakeholders? And how might we all collaborate in everyone's best interest?
Workshops will cover The Impact of Social Media, What Not to Do in Diabetes Design, and Human (Usability) Factors + Virtual Reality in Diabetes Care, to name a few.
