Reviewer Info: Alison Stuebe, Department of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston, MA., Healthline Pregnancy Guide, February 2006

The Delivery HealthMap explains normal vaginal delivery as well as cesarean section (when the baby is delivered through an incision in your abdomen). A cesarean section is necessary when vaginal delivery is unsafe for you or your baby.
