Transcript:
Angioplasty is a procedure used to open narrowed arteries that supply blood to the body. The blocked artery may be anywhere in the body. Your healthcare provider inserts a balloon catheter, a thin, flexible tube, into the narrowed or blocked artery, inflating a balloon at the tip of the catheter to stretch the narrowed artery. Then the balloon is deflated and the catheter and balloon are withdrawn.
