Angiogram Transcript

« back to video

An angiogram is a type of x-ray that uses fluoroscopy, essentially a ``movie x-ray'', to view arteries and veins. A special dye called contrast is used to visualize the area of interest. Contrast is introduced into the vessel through a catheter and pictures are then made, which help to detect bulges (aneurysm), narrowing or blockage.
