Because of potential risk of toxicity from the large amount of propylene glycol contained in amprenavir oral solution, the oral solution is contraindicated in infants and children <4 years of age, pregnant women, patients with hepatic or renal failure, and those receiving metronidazole or disulfiram and should be used with caution in others. Amprenavir oral solution should only be used when amprenavir capsules or other HIV protease inhibitors (PIs) cannot be used.
