The dorsal tarsometatarsal ligament is located in the foot. It provides connections among the bones of the feet.

The metatarsals are the long bones of the feet. There are five metatarsal bones located between the tarsal bones of the hind-foot and the toes. The foot has seven tarsal bones. Three of them are the medial, intermediate, and lateral cuneiform bones. A fourth tarsal bone is the cuboid. In each foot the cuboid is located on the outside, next to the cuneiform bones. The cuneiform and cuboid bones connect the heel with the five metatarsal bones. The metatarsals are not named; they are numbered from one to five, going from medial (inside) to lateral (outside).

The dorsal tarsometatarsal ligament connects the metatarsal bones with the cuneiform and cuboid bones. There are eight of these ligaments. They are flat, strong bands. One dorsal tarsometatarsal ligament connects the first cuneiform with the first metatarsal. The second metatarsal has three ligament connections, one from each of the three cuneiform bones. One ligament connects the third metatarsal with the third cuneiform. Two ligaments connect the fourth metatarsal with the cuboid and the third cuneiform. The cuboid bone is connected with the fifth metatarsal by one dorsal tarsometatarsal ligament.
