What Not to Eat During Pregnancy Foods that have been mentioned that women should stay away from when they are pregnant, one of them is fish, and not necessarily saying totally stay away from but just to limit it because of the mercury content. The other one can be cold cuts and cheese sometimes, because they are concerned about listeria, but I personally think if it’s been well cared for and well-refrigerated, it should be fine. Caffeine as long as it’s in a limited quantity, such as no more than two a day. Artificial sweeteners, those are fine, just no saccharine. Chesses due to the listeria concern, which is bacteria, I would limit that also. As far as the question goes about herbal teas in pregnancy, herbal teas because we really don’t know the effects of that on pregnancy, I would not recommend that.
