Host: One of the best ways you take control of your body and your health is to exercise, we've celebrity trainer Tracy Effinger with us to show something totally new. These machines are called vibration exercise machines; they're from the FBE SPA Los Angeles. Celebrities like Madonna, Heidi Klum, and a lot of athletes use these machines and I'm wondering how these works. Other than the fact, I can see something is going on. Jim: This is crazy. Tracy Effinger: You can see them vibrating. Take your air up a little bit there doctor. Fran Drescher: Now, I doesn't want the upper body right? Tracy Effinger: Hang-on. Hang-on. Fran Drescher: Oh, okay. Tracy Effinger: Okay. When we go to the gym, we know you use weights for resistance. When you're on the whole body vibration, you can pull the arrow down, when you're on the whole body vibration machine. The vibrations are acting as your resistance, it's a reflux oriented muscle contraction, so your brain is sending signals to the muscle saying, contract, contract, so that you can maintain your equilibrium. Host: With ten minutes, it's equal to an hour of running? Tracy Effinger: Yes, here is why. Host: Okay. Yeah, I believe it. Tracy Effinger: Okay, when we bring this up to a 30 hertz, your muscles are contracting 30 times per second. Fran Drescher: Yeah, but -- Tracy Effinger: Okay that's 1800 times in a minute. Fran Drescher: Now you're saying 18 and you're saying you would take it up to 30. Host: So, you're saying work up to 30? Tracy Effinger: This is what did. I need to show you back to first. Fran Drescher: Who is vibrating now? Tracy Effinger: Okay. We're going to pump it up a little bit guys. I want you to feel the full vibration. Fran Drescher: But this like kind of make my face look like bad you know model whatever it is and you know they told me to change for this segment and I thought maybe I should wear a t-shirt, and then I thought, what are my arms going to look like during this I need that on national television. No, I'm going to wear a nice tall long sleeve. Host: Do you like it Fran? Is this appealing to you? Fran Drescher: Well, you know -- first of all, what is it doing to my internal organs? I always get very wide. Tracy Effinger: Alright, okay. Let me tell you -- Fran Drescher: I'm wondering what that is going on. Host: Bell movements are really common. Fran Drescher: I'm wondering it's so sexy to make. Tracy Effinger: Doctors are prescribing it for fibromyalgia in this. Osteoporosis, the benefits are so many. What I love about the machine is it's for beginning exercisers, it's for senior citizens, it's for athletes, it all depends on how you execute the machine. Host: Some advanced moves. Tracy Effinger: Yes, yes. I'm going to have gym Brooklet come up high on his tip toes. Fran come up high on your tip toes, and then I want you guys you can try not by holding on, if you have to hold on, no problem. But I want you to sit down and just do a squat and we're going to hold that. Fran Drescher: On the tip toes or not? Tracy Effinger: On your tip toes have other see, right there. Now, don't go too low stay right about there. I'm going to give you about 30 seconds of whole body vibration right there. Fran Drescher: Oh, 30 seconds not that hard because I do have that a lot.
