Cheryl Cullina: Hi, my name is Cheryl Cullina, and I'm a cardio kickboxing instructor. This video is all about cardio kickboxing basic techniques, and I would like to show you a punch called an uppercut. Let's take this to a front combat stance, in guard position, and you will notice that in guard position, my arms are vertical, and that's the way the uppercut works. So, what we do is drop the shoulder of the arm that's going to take the punch on, lift it under the chin, your target is the chin. Arms stays close, although you're pretending to hit an opponent, not yourself. So, once again the shoulder drops, the hip rotates from back to front, the palms face each other, and we take that uppercut on and back to guard. That's our uppercut punch, lets move on.
