Understanding Nutrition and Food On behalf of TVLesson.com my name is Lisa Gaylord. I’m a personal trainer. Let’s talk a little bit about my favorite subject, nutrition. And nutrition is in so many different directions nowadays and without beating people up let's just talks about the basics. Certain stories you go to and they're probably the more popular stores. They set you up for bad eating. Most aisles are consumed with just bad eating habits, you know whether it’s potato chips and soda’s and things like that. My best advice is when you're going off to nutrition, the first thing you think about is did this come from the ground. Did this come form earth? Does it come in a bag or a box or a can or a jar, did it come into some form that it had to be processed? And ask yourself those questions, say “Did this come in a box that came from machine that came from somewhere that was manufactured and made?” Turn the box over, read the ingredients. If you're like me and you have a hard time reading those first 10 ingredients, it might not be the choice you want to make for food. And food meaning don’t consume your day with trying to go out and find the best most organic. I want you to eat healthy. Think about something that is going to satisfy you. Some people don’t like eating fruits and vegetables. Well what fruit or what vegetable do you like? There are products on the market that also supply you with vitamins and nutrients but we really want to go after the most holistic foods that you can. I laugh at some of my students because they ask me all the time, “What should I eat?” I'm like “Well start working on what not to eat going to better grocery stores finding better whole foods and that will probably help you.” On behalf of TVLesson.com this Lisa Gaylord, thank you for watching.
