Alzheimer’s is a progressive degenerative disorder of the brain. It’s actually one of the dementias. A lot of people ask me, “What is the difference between Alzheimer’s and dementia?” Alzheimer’s is the major type of dementia. Dementia is an umbrella term under which comes Alzheimer’s disease, vascular dementia, Tic’s disease, Lewy body disease just to name a few of the many dementias that there are. Alzheimer’s disease accounts for around 60% of dementia illnesses.
