Undergoing Ovarian Tumor Surgery I would like to share with you Dr. Magtibay’s bedside manner, but starting in the office he answered all my questions and he made me feel very relaxed and even though there were two other doctors in there and he did a pelvic exam I was totally relaxed and didn’t feel nervous at all and I felt that he was going to take care of whatever was wrong with me. He explained everything what he was going to do and how extensive this operation was going to be, it’s called debulking. When they, when you have ovarian cancer they go in and they take out as much fluid as they can from the abdominal cavity and they look at every other part of your abdomen and all the other organs including, he took out the entire bowel and ran his hand along it and inspected every inch of it to find any other signs of cancer and there were none. And, even after the operation when I was here in the hospital, he came in on his way to a hockey game with his son. He stopped in to see me on his way and I thought that was pretty special, and afterwards when I came back from my check up he said he’d never seen anybody recover as fast as I had and he just said, “Most women are, you know, just getting out of bed,” and here I was, you know, scooting all over town and back to my life except for golf, I haven’t played golf yet but next week I get to play golf again, and he did a great job.
