Pamela Mazza: The corner stone treatment for any form of diabetes is diet and exercise. We have to get people proper nutrition and get them physically active that's main concern regardless of what kind of diabetes or what type they have. People who have Type 2 diabetes sometimes can get by with medication or diet and exercise alone if that doesn't work often we go to insulin and we are trying to use insulin more and more now early because we know that it is delaying treatment that actually causes the problems. People who have Type 1 don't have as many choices as far as medications they need insulin but there are lots of different delivery systems, there are shots there are insulin pens or even insulin pumps.
