Well, traveling with a nine month old that's tough. You're going to want to keep them distracted. You bring lots of toys. Here's kind of a fun trick. Go out, before the trip, buy may be two or three new toys but then wrap them like Christmas or birthday presents and then throughout the trip may be every hour or so you bring a new one out and so they have fun even just unwrapping it and then they get to play with the toy for a while and then it may last for an hour and then when they get sick of it and you need a new distraction, pull out present number two. That's a great way to do it. When they start like to watch movies, a lot of parents will buy one of those really kind of inexpensive, small DVD, portable DVD players and that's a great way to keep the kids entertained. This is for emergency situations like a plane ride where I don't want the kids to watch TV all the time but it won't hurt them to watch a movie every once in a while on a plane, keeps them nice and quiet.
