Host: They may not be really overweight, want to become underweight and they go to extremes and take laxatives, they try to vomit meals. Such a things exits and how do we approach that? Is there anything we could do so that it doesn't happen? Guest: One thing that is quite clear, is there's observed strange, opposites of the extremes in our society today, while we are seeing a significant rise and overweight amongst children, teens, adolescents and adults, we are also seeing paradoxically. Children try to become thinner because of this modeling after Hollywood models and of course both sides of this coin, represent eating disorders that are quite dangerous to a child's life. It's important to remember that Anorexia and Bulimia Nervosa are quite prevalent in society today and they are perhaps one of the most difficult to uncover because of the shame and the way the children hide this kind of behavior. Certainly, if parents are concerned, or friends have raised concern, I urge parents to seek appropriate help so that their children can receive the appropriate treatment that they need, because this could be a very very serious disorder, that will lead to tragic consequences, if not appropriately dealt with.
