How to plan and prepare healthy and nutritious snacks

Rose Reisman: Eating on the go and snacking can be pretty tough. Now sugary foods will give you that immediate boost of energy that you need, but then later, you will crash. Healthy meals and snacks can be a combination of fruits and vegetables, whole grain products, lean protein and lower fat dairy products. Great example, whole grain bagel with cheese and an apple. So if you chose healthy snacks, you are going to feel energized, and you won't overeat at your next meal. You need to plan ahead when making snacks. I keep snack size baggies loaded all the time for me and the kids. I put it into my purse, into the kid's nap sack, and you know what, if it's there, they are going to eat it.
