Lola Berry: Good day and welcome to fruits and roots, I am Lola Berry. Today we are going to help you fight fatigue and boost those energy levels, and the thing for that is right behind me. But first, let me introduce you to Debbie, mother of two, busy traveling lifestyle, loves to walk her dog Buzzly and her favorite veggie is pumpkin. Debbie is concerned about her energy levels. So I am going to make a few recommendations to get her ripe and ready from dawn to dusk. Debbie: Basically I have to start the morning with a coffee because otherwise I am just, you know, I have my energy levels are too low, I really need that coffee boost in the morning. Then in the afternoon, I am starved to crushing out crave something sweet just to give me another sort of a lift of an afternoon and tend to eat out a lot. If we don't eat out, then quiet often we get take away because I am just too busy to prepare, you know, home cook meals and you know with two children living at home and so always it is a big rush really. Lola Berry: If there are some great food to help balance your energy levels, it's definitely nuts and seeds. And if you have them with dried fruit, you're getting the sugar with the portion sets the stains energy throughout the day. Debbie: Yeah. Lola Berry: Pineapples are definitely another great one. They are full of lots of antioxidants, that really, really boost your energy levels. Then there is the banana. Its name comes from the Arabic word banan, which funnily enough means finger. Bananas are one of my favorite tropical fruits. Did you know there are over 200 different varieties worldwide? These babies, these are called lady fingers. Now the stem of the banana tree is actually formed by plenty densely packed leaves and the juice from the stem has been known to relieve tooth aches. While the peel contains antiseptic properties, which can be wrapped directly around cuts, wounds or even insect bites. The reason why banana is such a good from of energy is because that contain complex carbohydrates and fiber and that's why they can be sustained for such a long period of time. After seeing all those yummy bananas, I couldn't resist but show you my favorite start of the day. This is my famous Lola's Green Smoothie. Add some apple, in go the nanny's, whack in a hand full of leafy greens, cucata, bit of water, and in the blender she goes. You may need to add some water as you go along depending on the consistency you are after. Get an austill glass, bang in a bit of honey, sprinkle a dash of coconut, and garnish with some almond and there you have it yummy. Remember you can always berries or any seasonal fruit. This is the best way to boost your energy and kick start the day. By getting excited about your diet and knowing which fruits and veggies are the best to energizing your body, not only you're going to feel great, you're going to look right, you're going to get that most out of everything you do.
