My name is Theresa and I am a 34 year, survivor. The way my cancer was found is that my first son was born prematurely and he died, and I had GI symptoms, so I went to the doctor and he was doing a routine examination and found that in fact I had a module on my thyroid, turned out that I was in surgery in two days and turned out to be a fairly aggressive thyroid cancer, but it was removed and I had I-131 or radioactive iodine after that, and it was cured for a while and then it returned. Several years later did the same thing again and that was 34-years-ago. The thing to do is to pay attention to your health, if you have symptoms go see about them, like people don't know exactly what's going on, go see some one and get it checked out. An early detection is the key to all of this!
