Prior to bariatric surgery, we do perform a few tests on the heart and the lungs and blood count and electrolytes in order to check the health status of the patient. This is very necessary because on occasions we do find out that patients have some problems with the heart or the lungs, and this can be easily corrected prior to surgery. The Surgilite Bariatric Management has a support group that meets every month, and we have the groups located in several regions of the state, and I know that make it convenient for our patients to travel to. We have found that the support groups have been very, very important in the post-operative management of our patients.
