The Risks of Stripper Pole Dancing Male: But pole dancing used to be a thing in gentleman’s clubs but now its actually part of a sport’s club movement. They're having stripper pole classes. We've done in the show before because the facts -- yeah, you get up on that pole and make some moves. It’s a good workout. Female: Yeah. Male: But here's the issue. A woman in New York actually fell from the pole and apparently allegedly hurt both of her shoulders when she slid down the pole fell on the floor. And now she is suing the gym. Male: There are risks, I mean if your pumping iron and you slip and you get hurt, -- as that. It’s a legal thing if you get on the pole, you're assuming the risks. Male: Personal responsibility. Male: Yeah. Male: And don’t hang upside down from the pole if you're don’t feel you're strong enough to do it, certainly. Male: Yeah. Female: I'm sure the gym probably had some waivers and things. You never know. But again, when you're trying to do some thing new, there's going to be risks in any exercise that you might injure yourself. Male: If you’ve never done it, you should have a trainer and it should be well patted and you probably should stretch first. Female: That’s something -- equipment failures or something like that like if there a pole -- Male: I have some friends that actually really into this and they do it, you know, once a week, they go to the class and that’s their kind of girl power hour, they say. But they say when they're done, they're kind of -- they got some bruises and they're kind of -- it’s not the safest. Male: Well, you’d hate for them to remove this is an option for the women who enjoy because obviously, a lawsuit can lead to that. And there's a statement from Crunch, they send us Crunches unable to comment about the specifics of the incident due to the fact that the lawsuit has been filed over. Crunch believes the claims is without merit and it’s vigorously defending the claim. And Crunches of course is the name of the gym. In the end, this is my lesson. And it’s really unfortunate that someone got hurt here. But if you're at the gym or anywhere else, you got take some personal responsibility. So you're got to be safe in any of these activities. That’s it. I think the important takeaway.
