Speaker: How does the new food pyramid teach us to eat? Gwendolyn Francavillo: The new food pyramid is a good way to balance nutrition in you body. If you go to mypyramid.gov it gives you a good example for each person individually of what you need to take into your body. So, you'll put in specific personal informant and they'll let you know how many ounces or what portion sizes that each food croup you'll need each and every day. There is a big emphasis on vegetables and whole grains and lean meats or beans in the new pyramid versus red meats and white breads and things like that. You also want to balance the calories that you're taking in with physical activity. So, expanding the calories as well as taking in calories to balance your intake for the day.
