Speaker: Which fruits and vegetables are the most beneficial? Jeannette Bessinger: Fruits and vegetables all have different components. You want to look for a verity when you're choosing them. Choose different colors, choose different textures, eat the once that are in season. If you are tying to avoid sugar you probably want to eat fewer tropical fruits, things like bananas and pineapple have a high concentration of sugar. The vegetables that most missing from a typical American are the dark green leafy vegetables, they have a high water content, high fiber content, very small amount of calories, so you can eat loads of them, gain from all those nutrients, benefit from all the nutrients, but not gain any weight.
