Well, there is research to suggest that infants that are vitamin D deficient may put them at higher risk of developing type 1 diabetes, multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, and maybe even common cancers. We also think that it may prevent them from maximizing their peak bone density and to achieve their peak height.
