The Importance of Have Radiation Therapy in the Same Position Well because the planning that we do for breast cancer patients is so precise that if a patient is not in the same position day after day after day, we can end up treating something we are not supposed to be, or miss treating something we should be. One of the things that we do is once we do all the planning, everyday when the patients get positioned in that custom mold, even before we turn the machine on we will do a quick scan of them to make sure that they are in the same position day after day after day. Sometimes although rarely some patients will either gain weight or lose weight during the course of treatment, which will cause them not to be quite in the same position each day but fortunately with our technology and our ability to pinpoint the areas that we need to treat we can make those adjustments on a daily basis.
