Dr. Susan Sharma: This is InsiderMedicine60 from Colombo. According to research in the Archives of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, racial and ethnic disparities and obesity rates exist even among four year old. In a study of over 8500 children researchers found that American Indian and native Alaskan children have the highest rate of obesity at 31% while those of Asian descent had the lowest at just under 13%. Prevalence among all four year olds was 18.4%. From Barcelona, according to research in the journal Hepatology, the drugs are often and may help reduce liver damage and those with portal hypertension. In the study of rats researchers found that those who received -- if everyday per two weeks, experiencing 80% reduction in the growth of new blood vessels in the viscera and 24% decrease in inflammation. And finally from Washington, certain international foods have widen its recall of pistachio products suspected of being contaminated with salmonella. Approximately 2 million pounds of pistachio nuts have now been recalled including products sold by manufacturers such as planters and craft food.
