The Effects of Plasma Clouds on Earth These are images of huge plasma clouds of hot gas that are emitted from the sun. When these clouds get near earth they can cause major disruption to radio communication systems and in extreme cases can cause the total loss of satellites. The research team of Birmingham University has built a monitoring system that provides early detection and monitoring of the gasses. They’re image here will be used by the United States Military. UNCI is capable of capturing an image of the entire sky every 1.5 hours and enabling scientist to keep a careful watch on all activity around the globe. The system will be able to provide a warning for up to three days upon the actual arrival of any mass gasses.
