The Effects Dehydration Has on the Intestinal Tract Dehydration is something that can affect our overall health and specifically with our intestinal tract. You know what, our body is going to try and conserve as much water as possible so it’s going to try and reabsorb that water from our intestinal tract and that could lead to more firm stools or less regular evacuation. So we need to take enough water to urinate at least five to six times a day and good clean water, hopefully a water that has been filtered to help remove as many of the toxins as possible.
