An echocardiogram is an ultrasound of the heart where we put some gel on the chest, and we are able to watch the heart beat in real time. We can measure the heart strength and measure the structures, whether it’s the heart is stretched out or thickened, whether it’s weakened, we can measure the valves to see if they are leaky or sticky, and we get a lot of information about the heart from that.
