Dr. Travis Stock: Now, parents picture this scenario with 8 o'clock, your kids are heading out with their friends. But, do you really know what their plans are? There is a dangerous trend on the rise and Investigative Reporter, Melanie Woodrow has this report for us. Melanie Woodrow: Planted on your sights undercover cameras captured customers after customer buying Spice Incense, an aromatic blend not for human consumption. Female Speaker: Do you have spice? Melanie Woodrow: Add tobacco for less. An employee went digging before offering us 5 grams of Orange Dragon spice, for $145. Male Speaker: Wow! Melanie Woodrow: Hampton Pipe and Tobacco owner Dave Mickle. Dave Mickle: It's not illegal. It's an incense; it is sold as an incense. Melanie Woodrow: But Norfolk Deputy City Attorney, Cynthia Hall says, that's just a smoke screen. Cynthia Hall: The whole purpose for this product being out there is smoking pipes. Melanie Woodrow: Users say, it's undetectable. Male Speaker: It doesn't pop up on urinalysis. Melanie Woodrow: The high. Male Speaker: Like the first time, I smoked marijuana. I sat on bed couch for 2 hours, just smiling. Melanie Woodrow: followed by an incredible low. Male Speaker: Once you come down your highs, you are so tired, you just have this headache in your head; it's like the worst migraine you've ever had. Mike Kennedy: It's a definite concern. It's getting on the radar screen for us. Melanie Woodrow: Mike Kennedy is the Resident Agent In-charge at the Norfolk DEA, working with Norfolk Narcotics Investigator, Cathy Pederson. Cathy Pederson: We are looking at felony charges for these and it would be prosecuted just like we would prosecute any of that drug case. Male Speaker: Difference, I would say is spice; you don't need as much to smoke and it lasts about twice as long. Candia Hall: We are hoping that at least the parents, after seeing your report, will be more vigilant, and check in to the status of this product.
