The Best Cereal for Weight Loss Cheryl Forberg Registered Dietician Hi I’m Cheryl Forberg nutritionist for the Biggest Loser and Author of Positively Ageless. Health experts recommend that we include 25 to 35 grams of fiber in our diets everyday. In addition to it’s heart healthy benefits fiber also keeps you full longer which helps you lose weight. Most Americans eat less than half that amount. It’s no wonder because it’s hard to get enough fiber for many of the processed and packaged foods out there. If you’re looking for a grab and go food for weight loss pack the fiber and other nutrients cereal can be a good option as long as you read the label. When you check the package label look for fiber under total carbohydrates and keep in mind that 2.5 to 4.9 grams of fiber preserving is a good source of fiber. While 5 grams are more preserving is an excellent source of fiber. You should also check for calories and fat content and be sure they’re 5 or fewer grams of sugar per serving.
