Taking a Newborn Outside Babies can be taken out for fresh air, it never hurts anyone. You would want to minimize exposure to people who are sick. A newborn baby should be taken care of by the immediate family, most incisive only. Crowded places where people find newborn babies attractive and want to touch them and kiss them and so on should be avoided. Taking a baby out in good temperate environment is actually beneficial to the baby.
