Audra Lowe: Its an embracing problem that a lot of problem don't want to emit they have, excess sweating which can ruin the clothes and make life simply miserable but now there is a new permanent way to relive the excess sweating and go back to living a normal life. Carolyn Dizon: And I could get uncomfortable and I will be afraid that tere be an unpleasant odor and that kind of thing it would be something that will be on my mind and that I will be concerned about. Elliot Jacobs: It's very debilitating for those who have it, it frequently shows in the armpits and it consisting clothing and people have to wear different outfits during the day. Elliot Jacobs: So what we've been doing is looking for something that can be done once get rid of it and not have to worry about it ever again. Host: And now Dr. Elliot Jacob says he is found just the thing a new procedure that he calls sweat lipo which is as the name implies a modified version of liposuction. Elliot Jacobs: Basically what we do is make one tiny cuts from that thick right here at the corner of the armpit and through that we introduce a special instrument which goes under the skin and literally scraps away the sweat glands which project underneath the skin. Host: The sweat glands were then sucked out of the body just as fat as during traditional lipo. Elliot Jacobs: So it sections it scraps and it removes the glands all at the same time. Host: After the procedure patients report an average of 75% reduction sweating and as a bonus reduced under arm hair as well. Elliot Jacobs: It has worked extremely well patients come back within a week or so after surgery and find that not only has the sweating diminish significantly but their life style has improved significantly as well.
