Host: What can I do at home to support my preschooler after a school shooting? Dr. Hayley Sherwood: You can help your preschooler after a school shooting by sticking to regular family routines, making an extra effort to provide comfort and reassurance, avoiding unnecessary separations, allowing your child to sleep with the light on or in your room temporarily, encourage your child to express feelings and emotions through play, drawing and story telling, limiting media exposure and developing a safety plan for the future.
