Host: What are some strategies for reducing stress? Jeannette Bessinger: Getting enough rest, a very good diet and getting enough hydration enough water. It's probably the first place you want to go when you are trying to reduce your stress. Many of us who are over stressed are also sleep deprived. Second thing that is extremely important is to have a strong social network. You need to have people around you who you can talk to. Who you can be real with. Research tells us that having a strong social network even if we don t have a biological family but we have a good network of friends and co-workers that can help us reduce our stress levels. The third thing that is very important is getting regular physical exercise, because vigorous physical exercise for at least 45 minutes a day is a terrific stress discharger.
