Female Speaker: Welcome to Prevention's amazing Defy Your Age Challenge. Exercise is anti-aging miracle and strength training is the best way to keep you looking toned, feeling strong, and as active as ever. For the woodchop you are going to want to start by making sure that your resistance band is anchored underneath something heavy such as the leg of a piece of furniture. Squat back and then twist from the abs lifting the band up and over the opposite shoulder. As you squat it will work your glutes and thighs. Twisting will activate your abs and reaching the band overhead will work your arms. As you lower the resistance band, make sure you do so slowly. So as to get the full benefit of the resistance. In this move make sure the resistance bands is nice and secure under your shoes. You don't want it to snap up at you as you exercise. It's really fire up your triceps. When you hinge forward at the waist, rotate your palms so they face one another. Also, keep your abs nice and engaged. This will avoid you putting any strain in your back during this exercise. For this kneeling pushup you are going to start out on your knees with the ankles crossed. Hands are going to be underneath the shoulders almost as wide as the mat. As you lower down to the pushup inhale bending the elbows. Exhale as you press back up to the height of the pushup and keep the abs drawn in so that you really stay in a straight line from head to knees.
