Sheringham Shoal Offshore Wind Farm. The UK has more then 40 percent of the EU's wind resources. It is the world's largest offshore wind energy resource. North Norfolk will be home to a new offshore wind farm project. The Greater Wash - large wind resource and shallow sea. Located between 17 and 23 kilometers offshore, 88 wind turbines, capacity of 315MW. Annual production of 1.1TWh. Foundations secured to the seabed. A network of cables linking the turbines to two offshore substations. Two buried, high voltage cables bringing the power to land. 22 kilometers of underground cable crossing the countryside. A new substation at Salle connecting to the existing grid. Renewable energy in Norfolk providing clean electricity for 220,000 British homes. Reducing CO2 emissions by thousands of tonnes per year.
