Male Speaker: Jane Ebert grew up in a form and its boys about her use of soy to relive the symptoms of menopause. Male Speaker: Jane became part of the study at wake Forest University which looked at ways women could get menopause or relief from natural sources, like soy. Jane Ebert: That eliminated the nuts sorts and that was heaven like. Greg Burke: The Isoflavones some cells are a farm of estrogen. Male Speaker: And researchers saying Isoflavones can fight disease. Art Blumenthal: I realize and I have seen some of our neighbors and friends, who went through the more elaborate treatments and seen that the side effects which can be so bad. Male Speaker: As a stage one patient Art was eligible for a study looking at how soy Isoflavones may hope the progression of prostate cancers. Nagi Kumar: We took this early stage a prostate cancer patient and give them 16 milligrams of whole soy protein with the Isoflavones; we notice that over 70% of them reduced PSA. Male Speaker: Art will never know if he took the soy or placebo but now he make soy a part of his regular diet.
