Male: Pediatricians have a tendency now to give solid foods later and one of the theories is that if you give it later, questions have been allergies, is that true? Dr. Marcus: We feel at this point that later introduction of certain foods does decrease the risk of allergies. The data is mixed, there are studies that suggest that this is true and there are other studies that show that it is not quite such a clear correlation, but for safety’s sake, we tend to introduce solid foods especially more allergenic foods such as eggs, added for later age than once was done.
