Slacklining for Beginners Travis: We just watched a couple of pros do this, the good news is I hope is that lay people, Jillian, myself and maybe the docs, we can still get a good workout? Emily: Absolutely. Mike: Oh yeah. Travis: So anyone no matter how much you’re doing because you are doing some moves that obviously a lot of people can’t do. Mike: Exactly. Travis: So for beginners, Jillian and myself and docs, you want to try this out? So I am going to go ahead and speak for us all and say that we probably start on this one. Emily: Right. This is the one you’re going to want to start on. It’s lower, not as intimidating. Travis: Jillian. Jillian: Okay. Travis: Ladies go first. Emily: Okay so a couple of tips before you try. Do not look down on your feet. You’re going to choose the spot ahead of you. Jillian: Down the log, got it, alright. Travis: Let’s get a little bit of music. Emily: You’re going to keep you knees nice and bend and you’re going to put your arms up. Wow there you go, good. Jillian: Let me do this one more time. I know where my -- but now I’m like -- oh yeah. Andrew: I’m guessing Jim is going to be good at this. Travis: And then really the key here is you really want to wear dress shoes. Alright no more dress shoes. Jim: One more time, one more time. Emily: Keep staring on the line just like Jillian. Travis: Alright Lisa. I’ve seen your balance before. Let’s see how you can pull this off. Lisa: I’m going to use this spot thank you very much. Emily: Okay you’re going to look ahead of you. Don’t look down because that’ll make you dizzy. Lisa: Okay. Andrew: So you don’t look down? Jim: Of course she looks good. Emily: Remember to breath. There you go. Travis: Alright drew. Jim: He’s on his own. Travis: Alright I’m going to try this just to embarrass myself. Emily: Alright, you’re going to use your mind and your body, don’t look down, use your feet. Travis: You know what? You know what’s fun about this? I think we can all attest that first time is very difficult but if you work at it and like you said you got to channel your mind and do it, I think overtime it’s a good workout just trying to get better. Lisa: It’s a great workout. These guys make it look easy though but it’s not. Travis: But thank you both. That was excellent.
