My name is Liz Tuccillo and I was the writer on the last two seasons of Sex and the City and I was the co-author of He's Just Not That Into You. And to do research for my fictional book On How to be Single, I want to run the world and I interviewed women and man about what was like to be single on their countries and it was fascinating and hilarious at the same time. The common issue was that most women in the world are looking for love. They’re looking for romantic love. They don’t want to settle particularly on this teenage. I didn’t really hear women saying, “I’d rather be in any relationship than no relationship.” Most of the women I spoke to it, they really like if I can’t be on a great relationship, and then I’d rather be single. I also heard it was unbelievable than in every country, there’s not enough good man. It’s very sad to hear. What are the best countries I think to be single is place like Iceland where it is very open-minded and incredibly liberal. So there, there was no sigma about whether you’re single, whether you’re a single mother, whether you are married, divorced. It’s a sort of always sort of the same view of just whatever your life choice was and this was to really know sigma about any of it. Whereas some place like China, considered you know so you know it’s such a terrible thing to not be married by a certain age and do not be able to and not to have children. It was very shocking to me that a Chinese single woman can’t adopt from her country. That she’s not allowed to adopt anywhere, from any where. You really actually see that sometimes politics plays a part and you know a women’s ability of happiness in being single in her country. You know, you think this is a crochet that in area there’s going to be is incredibly sexy in place of beautiful people worshipping their bodies and it’s really tricky. They had a lot of complains about their man in terms of you know being guys are one to commit they are still faithful. But besides that, they also have to be on their really good time. If you didn’t did any bad stuff like fidelity they seem to have you seem like you have a really good time in here. If there’s one thing that I wanted too like, if I could bring back our bottle or sell here that I learn in other country. It really is kind of the idea that in India, the women do. Then one they talk to you, actually do have a couple of options. They are dating and choosing men that they want a date and meeting people but in the same time, they do have this incredible structure of family and friends poor like boots to the ground, it looks scattered the troops. We’ll go out there; we’ll make some call; we’ll go on the web sites; we’re going to find you a husband. And there was a sense that it was everybody’s problem. I thought it was fantastic. I think everybody should start like getting in there and getting busy for their friends. It is true that in every country, I didn’t take back a little something and it was thrilling to sort of have that opportunity to meet people all over the world in here and have there addressing the issue of love an finding love.
