Should all women have a low dose Computed Tomography (CT) scan? DR. Claudia Henschke: No, we don't really think that mass screening is the way to do screening. Screening should be reserved for people at high risk for lung cancer. And for lung cancer the risk factors are age and smoking history. Those are really very important risk factors and so we think any screening should be targeted to high risk people. And that's why its important to have that discussion with your doctor to discuss what your risk characteristic or/and we have research that we've published in the past year or two that helps to find what your, what the benefit is of screening given your age and your smoking history.
